medical exercise expert Summer is coming, and over this terrible winter I grew quite a good sized “beer gut”. What is the best thing for me to lose this before the summer?

You are not alone.  Many people gain extra weight in the winter, especially one as long as this one seemed.  First of all, obviously, you have to cut back on the beer.  If you like beer, please stick with the lower calorie light beers only, and limit the number to one or two maximum.  Secondly, you have to burn calories.  So with spring time here, get outside and take a jog around the block.  You should be doing some form of cardio three times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes.   If you don’t like running outside, then a treadmill or another machine, such as an elliptical, will also be fine.  Lastly, you should do some exercises to tighten your belly muscles, such as leg raises, or crunches.

Watch this video for a good demonstration of these exercises.
